Tobacco and aging

The smoking beyond 50 years would increase the risk of suffering from Alzheimer's disease .

The dangers of tobacco do not stop the risk of cancer (lung or bladder in particular) of cardiovascular disease or chronic broncho pneumonia .

More and more studies indicate that smoking increases the risk of Alzheimer's Patient : chronic smoking accelerates cognitive decline associated with age , ie that intellectual performance decreases rapidly in the elderly , which could represent the beginnings of a brain degeneration.

The links between smoking in middle age and intellectual potential ultérie are better known . Men who smoked regularly have accelerated the deterioration of mental performance in older and those who have never stopped even faster disturbances .. In contrast, former longtime smokers have no greater than those who have never smoked cognitive deficit. It does not seem to have cognitive impairment related with tobacco among women , possibly because men of this age group smoked more than their companions.
