Coca dangerous for health?

In March 2012, the media reported the change in the recipe of the two world leaders in gas due to the presence of carcinogens drinks. A month later , an investigation into the death of a woman concludes that it is due to the consumption of this drink. Coke is it really dangerous ?
Carcinogens , Coca change its recipe

It is a new law of the State of California in the United States that forced the two major soft drink brands to change their recipe in March 2012, because of a chemical suspected carcinogen . Product , 4- méthylmidazole or 4 -MEI is a component of caramel coloring used by internationally recognized brands for their drinks. It could cause liver cancer , lung , thyroid and blood. Its level of dangerousness is not clear and controversial. This chemical component is not part of human carcinogens reported by major industrialized countries and no threshold prohibition was not specified . Moreover, the European Food Safety Authority did not consider that the amount of this component contained in the drinks could be dangerous for humans. Thus, this is a precautionary measure that world leaders have chosen to change the recipe of the lots sold in the United States rather than having to indicate the presence of potentially carcinogenic components on the packaging of their products , as has their been required in California. France and Europe would be so for now open.
Death due to Coca

Multinational already contested the sugar content of its products could again be plunged into turmoil after the death of a woman following a heart attack would be attributed to its high consumption of Coke. Close this New Zealander had then said it consumed up to 8 liters of Coca- Cola a day. This gave rise to the opening of an investigation to establish the link between the consumption, the less exceptional , and heart attack that the young woman died in February 2010. Dr. Dan Morin shows and two years after that death was caused by hypokalemia , ie a severe potassium deficiency and that it is effectively linked to the consumption of soft drink. Without directly incriminate the product , the doctor still said that it is the caffeine in its composition and absorbed dose that could have led to the disability and therefore death.

Note however that the consumption of these soft drinks, to more normal doses does not present a danger ! What moral learn from this story ? As said Gerard Apfeldorfer probably that excess anything , even a simple soda can be dangerous !

When you look back on your younger days, you feel bad. You ate abundantly, slept erratically and rarely exercised, but despite this, you were slim and trim. Now that you’ve turned forty, the slim figure remains elusive. The reduction in portion sizes and the abstinence from desserts and fast food only seem to add more pounds instead of melting them.
