Change your life in 7 steps

We are not very satisfied with his professional life. Rather than ruminate about the past later, and if you decide to change what 's wrong? Maud Simon , occupational psychologist and consultant orientation, gives us the keys .

Change of life : define what is good for us
Step 1: you press "pause" and focuses on self
Our professional situation does not suit us . Besides the office it feels , you feel less motivated than before. Fatigue , boredom settle. Rather than continue on the wrong path to the risk of grazing burnout , we stop for a moment. And we think about what we really want . A difficult task when you are caught in the daily whirl. There was no time to ask ? For us to create : we organize an evening away from distractions (TV, phone, friends, family). This is the condition sine qua non to reconnect to her " essential self ." And ask the real questions: what is important for us? What are our priorities in life? What we would like our life look like?

"To listen is to hear the voice within us that tells us what we would really enjoy , which would make us really happy, what we would really need , says Maud Simon . This is taking the time to rediscover their passions and start to meet our child and adolescent dreams . " The aim is to define what is good for us.

Step 2 : life is defined we really would like to live
Currently , we have a job while there was more conventional with conventional schedules, 9am to 18pm and 5 weeks of paid leave. Does that satisfy you ? What place do you want to work ? Maybe deep down we we did not want to go into the mold. Maybe we want a change of pace through part-time work at night, set up his small business. We dream perhaps moonlight , having a seasonal job in Paris and one that leaves us the freedom to travel the rest of the year.

To identify the need for change , identify how we work and how we can integrate this mode of operation to our existence.

Some tricks exist to define his life project : one may wonder and ask what our family loved when we were kids .
Another trick is to write our values, our talents, our passions, what you enjoy doing on a daily basis , our natural inclinations. By noting all , we can find a common denominator .
You can also make a comparison chart by entering in a notebook one side activities that make us feel good and the other those which repel us.

Step 3: we get information on how to complete this project of life
That's it , you can see more clearly into our desires and our real life professional ambitions. We now wonder how they will implement this new project of life.
If we consider eg retraining to become a landscape the maximum possible information is collected that refer to newspaper articles , landscaping schools , trade shows, open houses, meet landscapers, students in training ...

Step 4: we set clear objectives
Our life plan is identified. Now , it is determined by writing on a sheet of paper the main objectives to reach this new life. Each of these objectives is divided into sub-goals . On a schedule , we fix a specific time limit to complete each of these sub-goals , step by step .

Change of life : do not yield to fear
Step 5: you do not let fear stop by
Fear of failure , of being wrong , to succeed ... It is normal fear assails us in change. Closer we get to its goal , it feels more a prey to doubts. But you must know ahead with this fear , do not yield to it . " The greatest fear that we can have is to one day return to his life and regret not having done what was really important for us," Simon puts Maud .
Be accompanied by a work psychologist can help us overcome this fear.

Step 6 : choose to surround yourself with positive people
Can overcome its fears also by finding allies. Who are they ? People who can talk about his goals , his passions without negative reactions . People who share the same example project that we or who support us in our approach. It is not necessarily associated with him and his close friends that may arise in real " killers of dreams " or " flaps joy."
" Some people around us may not understand our project to improve life , says our psychologist. This may be because they are afraid for us or they envy us because it returns them to their own inability to take their lives . "

Step 7 : taking action
Our life project is defined materialized . Remains to be realized. This is the final where they took action step. The danger we face at this stage is to fall into the procrastination, the tendency to procrastinate what can be done the same day. To stay motivated , you can remember regularly with post -it what is wrong and what we want to change our lives.
Another tip , you can develop a " workbook euphoria " that regularly complete : in this workbook we arrange everything that brings us to our goal : photos, articles , drawings, ... So many little things that will give us energy to continue .

Once we realized our life project , not everything is finished. " It is good to take time to recover
